The Flower Bulb Research Program with Hatch and Smith Lever support partnered with Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River, N.Y., to plant a mixture of daffodils and early flowering blue bulbs (Chionodoxa, Scilla and Muscari) on a half-acre site near the working farm portion of the arboretum.
The entire planting of 70,000 bulbs was completed in less than 5 hours, demonstrating the labor savings potential of this technology.
